Privacy Policy
Last updated on 16th October 2026
This privacy policy forms part of an agreement between you and Weather Factory Ltd (referred to in these terms as “Weather Factory”, “we”, “our” and “us”) and applies to your use of its websites, games and other channels and technologies.
Introduction
1. Weather Factory is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.
2. This privacy policy sets out the basis on which we will process any personal information as well certain other information we collect from you, or that you provide to us. Please read this privacy policy carefully so that you understand how we will treat your information.
Children
3. We recognise we have a special obligation to protect personal information we obtain from children. We do not and will not knowingly collect information from any unsupervised child under the age of 13. In certain countries, prior written permission or other verifiable consent may also be required from a parent or guardian for children under the age of 18.
The data controller
4. For data collection purposes, the data controller is Weather Factory Limited, a company registered in England and Wales with number 10183376.
Information we may collect from you
5. We respect your right to privacy and will only process personal information you provide to us in accordance with applicable privacy laws, such as the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 and GDPR within the EU.
6. We collect data related to: your game play and in-game activity, and your devices and activities when you install or access our games.
7. We may collect and process data about you through the following means:
- Information provided when you report a problem with any of our games
- We may also ask you to complete surveys that we use for research purposes, although you do not have to respond to them.
8. We may collect this data through third party services.
9. We may store the data that we collect from you on servers outside the EU. It may also be processed by staff operating outside of the EEA who work for us or for one of our suppliers. Such staff may be engaged in, among other things, the performance of our obligations from any contracts entered into with you and the provision of support services. By submitting your personal data, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy, and will only share it with partners committed to GDPR compliance.
This website
9A. Hosting. weatherfactory.biz is served by Cloudflare. As with any website, Cloudflare processes your IP address and the information your browser sends with each request, to deliver the page and to protect the site from attack and abuse. We do not use this to identify you.
9B. Visitor statistics. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and does not follow you across other websites. It tells us, in aggregate, which pages are read and roughly where from.
9C. The contact form. When you write to us through the form, the name, email address, subject and message you enter are sent to Help Scout, the service we use to answer email, and kept there as a support conversation. Before the form sends, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you are a person and not an automated program. It runs in your browser from challenges.cloudflare.com, and uses information about your browser and device for that purpose only. You can write to contact@weatherfactory.biz instead.
Help Scout is based in the United States, so a message sent through the form is transferred there; Help Scout has self-certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF) and the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF. We keep contact conversations until you ask us to delete them, and use what you send only to answer you. The form reaches Help Scout through a small program on Cloudflare that passes it on and keeps nothing.
9D. The newsletter. If you subscribe, your email address is held by MailerLite, our mailing-list provider, and used only to send you our newsletter. Every newsletter has a link to unsubscribe.
9E. Cookies. The website itself sets no cookies. Cloudflare may set a cookie that is strictly necessary to protect the site from automated abuse. Other sites whose content appears on our pages (9F) may set their own; those are theirs, not ours. The website’s own video player uses YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, which is designed to hold back YouTube’s cookies until you play a video, but some older pages embed YouTube’s standard player. When you play a video, YouTube’s own privacy policy applies.
9F. Content from other sites. Some pages show content served by other sites: videos from YouTube, store widgets from Steam, posts from X (Twitter), podcasts from Buzzsprout, games from itch.io, and a few others. When such a page loads, your browser contacts those sites, which receive your IP address and may set or read their own cookies. Their privacy policies apply to what they do.
9G. Comments. If you comment on a post, we keep the name, email address and comment you enter. Your name and comment are published on the post; your email address is never shown, and we use it only if we need to reach you about your comment. When you start writing a comment, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you are a person (9C); it does not run for readers who do not comment. When you send it, your name, email address, IP address, browser details and comment are sent to Akismet, a service of Automattic Inc. in the United States, to check for spam, along with the address of the page you were commenting on. Automattic has self-certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF) and the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF. We never store your IP address itself: to limit how many comments one connection can send, we keep only a scrambled (keyed-hash) form of it, or of its network block for an IPv6 address, for an hour. Your comment waits briefly (normally a minute or so, longer while the site is being updated) in Cloudflare’s storage until our own server collects it, and is then removed from it. A comment Akismet judges to be spam is kept, unpublished, until we have checked it, and then deleted. Comments stay until you ask us to remove them (write to support@weatherfactory.biz) or we remove them as moderators. Comments brought over from our previous website came without email or IP addresses.
9H. Why we may use it. We use your information on one of two legal bases. For the newsletter (9D) we rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with the unsubscribe link in every newsletter. Everything else in this section rests on our legitimate interests: delivering the website and protecting it from attack and abuse (9A), counting visits so that we know what is read (9B), answering you when you write to us (9C), and publishing comments and keeping spam out of them (9G). You can object to any use that rests on our legitimate interests by writing to support@weatherfactory.biz.
Uses made of your information
10. We use information held about you in the following ways:
- To ensure that content from our games is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your computer or other device from which you access our games.
- To provide you with information or services that you request from us or which we feel may interest you, if you have consented to being contacted for such purposes.
- To perform our obligations from any contracts entered into with you.
- To notify you about changes to our games.
Disclosure of your information
11. We may disclose your personal information to any member of our existing or future group, which means our subsidiaries, our ultimate holding company and its subsidiaries.
12. We may disclose your personal information to third parties in the following circumstances:
- In the event that we sell any business or assets, in which case we may disclose your personal information to the buyer of such business or assets.
- If we or substantially all of our assets are acquired by a third party, in which case personal information held by us about our customers will be a transferred asset.
- If we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal information in order to comply with any legal obligation, or in order to enforce or apply our terms; or to protect our rights, property, or the safety of our customers or of others.
- We may share aggregated information that does not include personal information for industry analysis, demographic profiling and other purposes. Any information shared in these contexts will be anonymised.
13. We will not use your information for third party marketing purposes.
Your rights
14. You can email us at support@weatherfactory.biz to request that we delete your personal information. We will honour such requests, unless we need to keep that information for legitimate business or legal reasons. We may also not immediately remove information from backup systems designed to protect our services against accidental or malicious destruction.
Changes to our privacy policy
15. Any changes we may make to our privacy policy in the future will be posted on this page and, where appropriate, brought to your attention via email. We will indicate the changes clearly.
